Rabbi Aryeh Yehuda Leib Teomim came from a renowned family with lineage tracing back to the Gaon Rabbi Yona Teomim Frenkel, author of Kikayon De'Yona, as well as Rabbi Shaul Wahl and the Maharshal. He married Michal, the daughter of R' Shmuel Bik, one of Brody's honorable people. She was the divorcee of Rabbi Meshulam Igra, who agreed with her father to arrange for her to remarry with a scholar. Indeed, Rabbi Aryeh Leib was known from his youth as a prodigy and was accepted as the Rabbi of the Lizensk community. He was there during the time of Rabbi Elimelech and was his adversary since he objected to the Hassidic way of life. Rabbi Aryeh Yehuda was accepted to the Brody rabbinate in 5575 (1815) in place of Rabbi Meir Kristianpoler. He became very ill in 5587 (1827) and ceased to function. The heads of the community, accepted, without his knowledge, Rabbi Eliezer Landa to fill the position. However, both of them passed away during the cholera epidemic which spread during the summer of 5591 [1831].

Le rav Aryeh Yehuda Leib Teomim est issu d'une famille de renom remontant au Gaon Rabbi Yona Teomim Frenkel, auteur de Kikayon De'Yona, ainsi que rav Chaoul Wahl et le Maharshal. Il a épousa Mikhal, la fille de R 'Shmuel Bik. Rav Aryeh Leib était connu depuis sa jeunesse comme un prodige et a fut accepté comme le rabbin de la communauté de Lizensk. Il était là à l'époque du rav Élimélekh, mais il s'opposait au mode de vie hassidique. Le fut nommé Rav de Brody en 5575 (1815) à la place du rav Meir Kristianpoler. Il tomba très malade en 5587 (1827) et a cessa d'exercer. Les chefs de la communauté nommerent, à son insu, le rav Eliezer Landa pour le remplacer. Cependant, tous deux decederent au cours de l'épidémie de choléra qui se propagea pendant l'été de 5591 [1831].
