Modern reprint of a rare diary written in the Lithuanian ghetto of Shavlie during the years 1942-1944 by Dr Aaron Pick.

Dr. Aharon Pick (also spelled Pik or Pieck) created his diary in the Šiauliai ghetto between 1941 and 1944. In it, he remembers life in Lithuania before the Soviet take over in June 1940, life under the Soviet regime, and the situation in Lithuania and in Šiauliai on the eve of the German invasion in June 1941. He then describes Šiauliai ghetto, unsanitary conditions and public health in the ghetto, and Judenrat activities in the ghetto. David Pick buried the diary after his father’s death in June 1944 and retrieved it following liberation in July 1944.

Réimpression moderne d'un journal rare écrit dans le ghetto lituanien de Shavlie pendant les années 1942-1944 par le docteur Aaron Pick.

Il y relate la vie en Lituanie avant la prise de pouvoir soviétique, la vie sous le régime soviétique et la situation à la veille de l'invasion allemande en juin 1941.

Il y décrit ensuite le guetto de Siauliai, les conditions d'insalubrité et les activités du Judenrat.
